We’re not short of markets in Manchester. We like a good one. They are very popular and are seen as a way of bringing people into an area. They provide street life and, once the people come to visit them, they stay and eat in the restaurants and cafés and buy stuff in existing shops.

King Street had one this weekend. To take part you had to be under 25 as it was the National Youth Market, an opportunity for young people to establish themselves as market traders. That’s me out then! It looks a fun way to make money but I’m sure it’s hard work to get it right. And I’m not sure how much you can earn. I suppose it’s how much effort you put into it.
