Hi Caroline!

Thanks for kind words about my blog. I’m glad you like reading it. Are you following me on TWITTER yet? It’s my latest thing (way behind everyone else of course; and I don’t do FACEBOOK yet, my grasp on reality is fragile enough without throwing 10,000 imaginary friends into the mix). I think the duck houses have been put out by the people who look after the canals. The ones I’ve seen seem to be on little pieces of land accessible to ducks but not to humans. You would have to swim to get to them and, although the canals are a lot cleaner than they used to be, I wouldn’t want to try that. But I suppose if you were drunk enough you just might. I hope it’s back in its’ proper place by now.

I was a bit confused about you being able to see the MOMA buillding which I understood is the Museum of Modern Art in New York. A bit of a stretch to see from Manchester even on a clear day if you work on top of the Hilton Tower. Did you meand the Co Op’s NOMA development? I guess you did. It’s a stunning building. I hope ordinary people can go in and have a look when it’s all finished. I will have to go past and see how it’s doing. It opens in the Autumn I’m told.

Whilst walking to work along Dale Street this morning I saw a red duck house sitting by the side of the lock into the basin – it’s not usually there and I wondered if it was a victim of the manchester city parade the night before. I think it usually lives further down the canal near a pub with a bridge across the canal, the name of which I don’t know. It wasn’t there when I went home so hopefully someone found it and restored it to its rightful place. Who provides these rather lovely houses for the ducks and geese?

I like your blog, I’ve also been watching with interest the growth of the MOMA building which can be seen from the upper floors of the building I work in.

Thanks for reading. Are you in Manchester as well somewhere or from outside the city? I’m glad you are enjoying my ramblings ans pictures. I will make every effort to do at least a daily post in my busy period. It starts at the beginning of June and will finish sometime in July! Phew!!

You are quite right! You must know Manchester very well to get all that from that little picture. Krispy Kreme is one of my (many) guilty pleasures. A very ungallant comment about the lady though but probably true. hehe
